Predominant Diseases in Cockatiels

Cockatiels and parrots like all other animals can have pathologies (diseases). Some pathologies appear during the life of the parrot and according to its environment (lack of hygiene, unadapted food, toxic vapours...), others are pathologies that are transmitted by contact or air (dust...).

For P. B. F. F. D. diseases (bill and feather disease) and Psittacosis, we advise you to ask for a certificate of disease tests issued by approved laboratories to the cockatiel breeder or the pet store before putting the bird in contact with the others.

This is very IMPORTANT! to make sure that the newcomer is healthy so as not to contaminate your birds and yourself in certain cases of diseases communicable to humans.
